Overview of Starting and Requesting Objective & Performance Assessments
Requesting Approval and Scheduling Objective Assessments (OA).
A. Always start with opening the Assessment Preparation within the Course of Study:
· This is where you would go to take the preassessment, click on Pre-Assessment.

B. Once you take a Pre-Assessment it will say view report, within the small window for you click and view your Coaching Report within Pre-Assessment window (b &c) next to your score. Please note that everything you need for your Pre-Assessment is only found in the Pre-Assessment link. For example, if you would like to request to take a 2nd or 3rd attempt, you must go to ‘Pre-Assessment’ link (c) in order to do that and NOT ‘REQUEST APPROVAL’. Once you pass the Pre-Assessment, you can go on and click ‘REQUEST APPROVAL’. On the screen shot below, is what I see on my end and where it says ‘PRE-APPROVE’, is where it would say ‘REQUEST APPROVAL’ for you.
C. You can also view your Pre-Assessment Coaching Report (d) to study for the objective assessment by clicking ‘View’ (c) under Coaching Report. You can click on the link of each section that is below the cut score to prepare for the objective assessment. See example below (d):

D. Once you pass the pre-assessment and request approval, I will then approve your request. You will go back to your COS and you can then click on ‘Schedule Now’ under that assessment preparation area as seen below (Of course, you won’t see ‘Remove Approval’ that is seen on my end).
E. Once you are ready to schedule, and click on ‘Schedule Now’, you will see the following pages:
· If taking the assessment via WGU-issued webcam, you will see the following screens:
The Right side was blurred to due to protection of information…sorry if it hurt your eyes…just wanted you to get the concept. J Just simply place the time zone, date and time you would like to take your objective assessment and you will receive an email with all the information and instructions you will need to attempt the objective assessment. You will have someone proctoring you, using one-on-one chat. Also, make sure the lighting is good in your room and that you have your State or Federal-issued ID available.
If taking the assessment via WGU-Approved Testing Center, you will see the following screen:
If you do not see your scores immediately after taking the assessment, you can go to your Degree Plan and if the ribbon next the course is blue () you passed. To see the score, you can go to the COS and click on the arrow by Assessment Preparation and then click on Coaching Report. You will see your score at top left. (example few screenshots above) You can also click on Pass/Not Pass or Assessment Details (a) and then click on ‘Coaching Report’ (b) to see your results. See below:

Accessing and Loading your Tasks for TaskStream
Once you get into your degree plan click on a course that is a Performance Assessment and go into the Course of Study (COS). You will have to do certain steps in order for the course to load into your Taskstream (TS) account.

The following is what you would do if you would like to work on the tasks while waiting for the course to load into TS.
Click on Assessment Preparation and once the box opens click on Assessment Preparation again, and it will bring you here.
Then click on the title of the course, found within the Olive Green Taskbar. In this example, I used Organizational systems.
Once you click the name of the course, you will see a list of the tasks for that course, as seen below. These are the tasks that will be in Taskstream
(Please note, there are times that a few areas of the task may be modified, so always check the TS directions prior to submitting the task you started to work on using this route.)
Click on Directions to receive the instructions for the each tasks, to understand what the task is about.
You can then click on Evaluation Method in order to see the rubric, by then clicking on the hyperlink [View rubric link…”]. This also can be used as you are going through the material as your outline of what you need to gather through the readings to write your papers.

- Once request is approved, you will then go back into the COS and click on ‘BEGIN NOW’ (It will not say ‘REMOVE APPROVAL for you.)
- Next, another window will open and you are to click ‘SUBMIT’ (Don’t worry about putting in any notes.)
- Lastly, you will receive a Confirmation page stating that your course will load into your TS account within 48 business hours.
- It will then say ‘In Progress’ once you have completed the steps to load course into TS
